SOUTHWEST CENTER FOR ENVIRONMENTAL RESEARCH AND POLICY (SCERP)

The UNIVERSIDAD AUTONOMA DE BAJA CALIFORNIA is a public institution of higher learning committed to providing quality education to benefit society and the environment. We are particularly interested in research projects that help protect and restore our ecological resources.

For this reason, we enthusiastically support the proposal submitted by Dr. Victor Miguel Ponce, professor of civil and environmental engineering, San Diego State University, entitled: "Baseline studies for the restoration of Cañada Joe Bill, Tecate, Baja California, Mexico," located within the Tijuana River Watershed. This project will acquire and develop essential data for the restoration.

Dr. Ponce has wide experience in the areas of hydrology and environmental impact in our state, Baja California; therefore, we join in support of his proposal. We note that the research team includes five (5) professores of our university.
