The undersigned support the proposal entitled: "Baseline studies for the restoration of Cañada Joe Bill, Tecate, Baja California, Mexico," presented by Dr. Victor Miguel Ponce, professor of San Diego State University.

Joe Bill Canyon is an important part of the environment in our community. Unfortunately, the predatory extractive practices of the past ten years have contributed to the deterioration of this environment. We support the study proposed by Dr. Ponce because it has the objective to restore and recover the canyon for the benefit of the local population. The interdisplinary nature of the proposed studies guarantees a holistic treatment and assures the success of the rehabilitation.

Dr. Ponce's record in environmental research along the border of California and Baja California is widely recognized. We reiterate our support for this important project for our community.
