Delegacion Tecate, Letter No. 989

Tecate, Baja California, December 04, 2003.

SOUTHWEST CENTER FOR ENVIRONMENTAL RESEARCH AND POLICY

Considering that Tecate Creek constitutes a significant natural capital, the government of the state supports and promotes the ecohydrological channelization which will allow urban development within the framework of sustainable development.

Considering the above mentioned, we are pleased to approve and support the project entitled "Hydrology and hydraulics for the Tecate Creek corridor restoration," presented by Dr. Victor M. Ponce to the Southwest Center for Environmental Research and Policy, given its recognized expertise and knowledge of the region.

We are sure that both sides of the border United States - Mexico will benefit from the results of this project.

Sincerely yours,
