SOUTHWEST CENTER FOR ENVIRONMENTAL RESEARCH AND POLICY (SCERP)

We, the inhabitants of the Alamar, support the project entitled "Sustainable Architecture of Arroyo Alamar, Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico," which is being proposed by Professor Ana Elena Espinoza of the Center for Urban Studies of Tijuana and Dr. Victor Miguel Ponce, of San Diego State University. This project will design an architectural plan for the Arroyo Alamar taking into account our needs and opinions during the design phase.

This project will help us improve our quality of life, since currently the Arroyo Alamar is highly polluted due to illegal garbage dumps and discharge of untreated sewage, which are impairing our public health. Moreover, the increase in irregular settlements (squatters) has led to much insecurity in the area, which is adversely affecting our daily lives.

Sincerely yours,
