SOUTHWEST CENTER FOR ENVIRONMENTAL RESEARCH AND POLICY (SCERP)

This letter is written to inform you that we consider the participation of Professor Ana Elena Espinoza, coordinator of the Center for Urban Studies of this university, in the project entitled "Sustainable Architecture of Arroyo Alamar, Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico," which is being proposed by Dr. Victor Miguel Ponce, of San Diego State University, to be highly important for the Centro de Estudios Superiores del Noroeste (CESUN).

The interdisciplinary vision and the involvement of the local population in the project are important factors for the rehabilitation of the Arroyo Alamar, which is a riparian corridor. The involvement of local stakeholders will guarantee that the project will be carried out, since it will lead to a proposal for the improvement of the urban space and thus to a better quality of life.

Another important aspect of this project is the implementation of technological innovations that will enable communication through virtual networks for research centers and universities on both sides of the border. The mission is to develop proposals that will contribute to the search for the sustainability of our cities, particularly in our region, since pollution and ecosystem degradation know no borders.

We are hopeful that the proposal will be supported and the study carried out, so that it can contribute to the development of sustainability in the border region.

Sincerely,

(signed)
