PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • 09-2004 to present:   Lecturer and researcher at the Universidad Autonoma de Baja California (UABC). Current activities are related to Construction Engineering and Management research, lectures to undergraduate and graduates students in the area of construction planning and control, risk management, project planning and finance and construction costs.

  • 01-2003 to 09-2004:   Lecturer and researcher at the Universidad de las Américas, Puebla, México. Teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Courses at the undergraduate level were: (1) Planning and controlling construction projects, and (2) Construction costs. At the graduate level, the courses were (1) Construction productivity, (2) Cost management and inventory in construction, (3) Evaluation of construction projects, and (4) Organizational behavior in construction. My research is in the areas or risk management, project management, private finance partnerships and the use of artificial intelligence in construction.

  • 04-2002 to 07-2002:   Muller - Alvatter Bauunternehmung, Co. The company is situated in Dresden, Germany. Performed tasks related with the quality of construction projects at the post-construction phase. The projects were very diverse, for example, commercial centers, prisons, hotels, etc. Performed work related to the management of construction materials and its impact with project development.

  • 01-1997 to 06-1998:   Professional Drafting & Associates, San Diego, CA. Performed analysis and design of steel structures in various projects around the United States. The projects were from public and private clients. Worked as a project manager, and was involved with individual and teamwork. Used AutoCAD and the design program SSDCP.
