The Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering (CCEE) at San Diego State University (SDSU) invites applications for an open faculty position in Hydraulic and Water Engineering, effective Fall 2018. Candidates able to demonstrate expertise in one or more of the following areas are particularly welcome: (1) numerical modeling of hydraulic systems, (2) ecohydraulics and ecohydroclimatology, (3) stormwater modeling and green infrastructure, (4) groundwater sustainability, and (5) fluvial geomorphology and sedimentation engineering. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and research. In addition, an ability to effectively create and use online resources is encouraged. The position is a tenure-track appointment with teaching, research, and service responsibilities, to be filled at the rank of assistant professor. The position requires B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Civil Engineering.
The Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering has thirteen (13) full-time faculty members with specialties in construction, environmental, geotechnical, structural, transportation, and water resources engineering. There are opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration across the university through Blue Gold (bluegold.sdsu.edu), one of three areas of excellence at SDSU. The Department offers B.S. degrees in civil, environmental, and construction engineering, an M.S. degree, and a joint Ph.D. degree with the University of California at San Diego.
