OVERALL COMMENTS: This class is required for civil engineering seniors. Continuous improvement assessment is based on student responses to multiple-choice questions. Statistical average of responses reveals the need to stress certain subjects that may not have been fully comprehended. One example is that of Tulare Lake Basin, which is filling with salt. The concept of basin salinity is difficult for senior civil engineering students to graps fully. Therefore, more emphasis is needed to clarify this issue. Another problem is that of the Salton Sea's predicament. Technical, political, and societal solutions to this problem remain to be implemented. More emphasis is needed on this topic.
