Subject: Affidavit Letter of support for Aleks and Marisol Gostomelskiy
Dear USCIS Officer:
I am an employee of the State of California, having been employed as
a professor of civil engineering at San Diego State University since 1980.
In that capacity, I have known Aleksander Gostomelskiy since 2009. He took several classes with me while
he was at SDSU, pursuing both an undergraduate and a graduate degree in civil engineering.
Aleksandr completed his B.S. in civil engineering in 2010 and his master's degree in 2014.
In January 2013, Aleks married Marisol Sanchez in the Country Administration Center, San Diego, California.
May wife and I attended their wedding and were witnesses to it.
We have known Marisol since 2009, all the time we have known Aleks. They were dating at that time, getting together
frequently, as is usual for young people that are serioulsy thinking about becoming a couple.
We visited with them many times during this period.
From being a student, Aleksandr became a collaborator in my lab at SDSU,
and eventually a trusted friend. We entertained them at our home in several social occasions during the past three years.
Whenever possible, when our busy schedules permitted it, we would go out to dinner and enjoy each other's company.
Aleksandr and Marisol are a wonderful couple, truly in love with each other; a model of what a married
couple should be. Their momentary physical separation
due to job related demands does not in any way diminish their committment to each other as a married couple.
I have personally observed that they talk very frequently on the phone, mahy times a day, much as I do with my wife of 45 years.
Please contact us at (858) 484-2495 if you have any questions or require additional information.
Sincerely yours,
